For five years before forming the Sea Star Companies, Mike Whipple managed the design and construction for a national development firm. Project experience includes mini-warehouses, apartments, retail centers, single family subdivisions, offices, and large mixed use developments. In one year, Mr. Whipple was managing the development and construction of $50,000,000 worth of projects in three separate states. For three years, Mr. Whipple was a featured speaker at construction and development industry trade shows.

  • Sea Star Investments, Inc. is in its twenty-fifth successful year. Sea Star Construction, Inc. has twenty-two years experience. Other related entities are Storage, LLC, formerly one of the largest self storage facilities in Louisville, KY with 102,000 SF of units and 288 boat and RV parking spaces and gross annual revenues of over $1,000,000. Sea Star Companies planned, developed, and constructed the property, then managed it for 13 years and sold it in 2012.

    Another recent development is Apollo Storage, LLC in Melbourne, Florida which is over a thousand units of self storage and has occupancies in the high 90’s with annual revenues of over $1,200,000. Sea Star Companies developed the property, managed the property from lease-up to high 90's occupancy and negotiated the sale for $9,250,000 in October of 2014.

  • Sea Star is pleased to announce the acquisition of Wee Stor-it self storage at 5089 N Preston Hwy in Pioneer Village, Bullitt County KY. The self storage facility has 70,000 SF of self storage units plus covered and open RV and boat parking on 11.3 acres. Sea Star negotiated the purchase and financing and will manage the facility.
